26/07/2010 - Starting Block announces its short film shortlist
Starting Block has announced its shortlist of fifteen short films to be developed at residential film schools this August. Run by Diversity Films, Starting Block is a Creative Scotland supported training and filmmaking scheme aimed at first-time filmmakers aged 16-60. Filmmakers from diverse communities in Scotland were invited to submit ideas for short films based on the theme of ‘Diversity’.
These fifteen short dramas, documentary and mixed format films reflect a range of subject matter, characters and experiences. Filmmakers will develop their ideas at residential centres in Fife and Dumfries & Galloway. Six films will be selected to go into production, each with a professional mentor.
